Springtime on top of the world

Renee and I stopped and had lunch at this little pond up high in the Black Rock Mountains, near Dry Lake, this past week. The Black Rocks are, to me, the perfect mountain range that hides its charms from the casual viewer, and only opens itself up to you when you are ready to receive it. I think that’s why, while great grand granite peaks draw the eye, these rounded but massive summits are the real top of the world. A strange impression, I’ll admit, but something I’ve always thought.
